Edra presents "Pack" Pied "by Francesco Frangmarinu

The sofa is generously sized, with an anthropomorphic movable backrest. The designer, Francesco Binfarè, he infuses his creations with a great capacity for observation, intuition and poetry: “Now the story and the thing merge, there are no cages of meaning to reveal. Everything became transparent, sincere, disarming. This year there is a sofa that looks like a room and an armchair that looks at it. Poetry, the fairy tale, beauty is offered without justifying itself.”

The sofa is composed of a soft seat made of feathers and Gellyfoam which represents a frozen ice floe. The shape is irregular but equivalent to the size of a right angle like the one made up of a two-seater sofa and a three-seater, with a small table in the middle. Leaning on top, a large BEAR lying on its side which acts as a backrest. The dimensions are three meters and seventy centimeters by two and fifty centimeters.

It is a contemporary landscape that tells of our times of climate change and thawing glaciers, but also the human feelings that accompany them: loneliness but also innocence, happiness, unconsciousness and ability to enjoy small things, like the warm sun on the bear's back or the rising Northern Lights of the night version. It's a domestic landscape thrilling.

The PACK fabric is exclusive, created just for this project, as happened with many other Edra projects. In this case, the texture is constructed in the likeness of ice floe, with the frost and the different layers of ice. The bear, on the other hand, is soft, welcoming, made with precious ecological fur. It is a symbol of affection: invites you to embrace it and let yourself be pampered by its softness, suggesting the metaphor of the teddy bear that children hug in bed before falling asleep. It has a weighted shape inside and a base finished in leather, so as to remain still on the support surface. It exists in two versions: day and night, black and white. “The basic idea is eros”, says Francesco Binfarè, “because eros is not just sexuality. Diurnal eros is solar, it is vitality. Nocturnal eros is mystery, dream, intimacy."

An extremely current sofa, born today but destined to last over time: a feature of all Edra products.

A sofa that can be easily inserted into any style because it was conceived with that universality of use in mind which is, by Edra, a fundamental principle, applied to each of its products.
