Design, nature and architecture in the center of Arkeda, in Naples from 2 al 4 December – order of architects: “The culture of the project for the ecological transition””

Napoli, 17 November – It will be Y/N/A – i.e. design/nature/architecture – the theme at the center of the ninth edition of Arkeda scheduled at the Mostra d'Oltremare in Naples from 2 al 4 December 2022. The aim is to show how the architect's work must change to safeguard the planet. A theme never presented in such an explicit way - and which will be carried forward in Naples thanks to the courage of some architects – which recognizes that architecture has a subservient role for nature, sustainability and survival of the planet.

“Let's go back to Arkeda where, also for this edition, we confirm our participation with a stand imagined as a meeting and convivial discussion space for architects and professionals in the sector. On schedule – explains the president of the Order of Architects of Naples, Lorenzo Capobianco – we have four seminars that address some of the central themes for our category. The first appointment will focus on the ecological transition, recognized as obligatory and non-postponable: the carbon neutral objective, in its extension also to assets subject to historical and artistic restrictions, requires particular attention and sensitivity on the part of the architect and the project so that the satisfaction of the performance occurs through conscious paths and choices. Another moment of meeting and discussion will be aimed at two souls of the same profession: that of the freelancer with that of the technical and managerial figures of municipal administrations. Still, at the next edition of the conference exhibition we will present the National Technical Structure in support of Civil Protection: it is the social and ethical role of a profession that is also measured by the need to deal with the fragility of the country and to have to take care of what exists. Finally, on Sunday we close with a seminar dedicated to one of the most important themes of the cities to come: the future of the coastlines, the Bolkestein directive and the tourism development of our territory".

Numerous topics will be developed within the program of the exhibition-conference: from nature as an element of reference to the importance of small size and detail in the architect's work, by the absence of boundaries between architecture, design, art and sociologist, technology and all other sciences, at the time that it no longer has a linear development, but it can be manipulated.

The opening of Arkeda, scheduled for Friday 2 December at 10 in the pavilion 5 of the Mostra d'Oltremare, will be introduced by the scientific director of the exhibition-conference, the architect Roberto Cappelli. Speeches by Massimo Pica Ciamarra will follow, Pino Pasquali and Giulio Iacchetti.
